This work represents study of symmetry applied to sound. Each piece has been developed from a single root: an artificially created sound, forming a seed of the musical idea. This sound was subjected to symmetrical mutations – pitch, frequency and time displacement. Resulting sounds were recombined with the original, and then recursively treated by the same process over and over again. Occasional glitching, distortion and environmental elements were then added to represent boundaries of space.
This approach was inspired by Alexander Skryabin’s colour system of composition, and was meant to represent a spatial, more mechanically primitive, and mathematically consistent interpretation of the technique.
